June is National Homeowner Month. Have You Registered Your Home Yet for Property Fraud Alert?

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (June 11, 2026) – June is National Homeowner Month, and Clerk Mike Caruso is urging all Palm Beach County property owners to take a minute and ensure their most valuable assets are protected by the Clerk’s free Property Fraud Alert service.

Subscribers to the Clerk’s Property Fraud Alert service will in most cases receive an email alert within 24 hours if a document such as a deed or mortgage is recorded with the Clerk’s office that matches the information used on their Property Fraud Alert registration. Subscribers can then notify authorities if they suspect something was recorded without their knowledge or permission.

“The Clerk’s Property Fraud Alert service is our community’s first line of defense against the growing crime of deed fraud,” Clerk Caruso said. “It only takes two minutes to register online for Property Fraud Alert and can help you protect your home for years to come.”

Clerk Caruso has led the charge in Palm Beach County to sign up more property owners for Property Fraud Alert. Since he was appointed Clerk in August 2025, he launched a comprehensive Property Fraud Alert outreach effort that includes presentations to community organizations, subscriber sign-up events with condominium and homeowner associations, and public service announcements on television, radio and social media.

These efforts resulted in a significant increase in Property Fraud Alert subscribers in Palm Beach County. Since Clerk Caruso’s campaign for Property Fraud Alert began in December 2025, the Clerk’s office increased new registrations for Property Fraud Alert through May 2026 by 281.42 percent over the same six-month period in 2025. Palm Beach County now leads the state in Property Fraud Alert registrations.

“The numbers tell the story. Once people learn about our free Property Fraud Alert service, they sign up to help protect their homes,” Clerk Caruso said. “I won’t stop until every single property owner in Palm Beach County is signed up for this important service.”

The Clerk’s office serves as the keeper of Palm Beach County’s official records including court judgments, deeds, mortgages, liens, marriage licenses, plats and tax deeds. It launched the free Property Fraud Alert service in 2015 and now has nearly 130,000 subscribers.
