Boca International Jewish Film Festival Opens 2026 Season with Cinebash Celebration and World Premiere Honoring Tovah Feldshuh

BOCA RATON, FL (February 4, 2026) — The Boca International Jewish Film Festival (BIJFF) officially launched its 2026 season with its signature Cinebash Opening Night, an elegant evening of film, conversation, and community held Monday, January 26 at The Wick Theatre. The sold-out event featured the World Premiere screening of TOVAH, a feature-length documentary celebrating the life and legacy of Broadway icon Tovah Feldshuh, who was also honored with BIJFF’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Cinebash began with an exclusive Patron Dinner before welcoming guests into The Wick’s theater for the premiere screening. Feldshuh attended the event alongside filmmaker David Serero, who directed and produced the documentary. Following the screening, the audience participated in a lively and moving Q&A with Feldshuh and Serero, offering rare insight into her extraordinary five-decade career across theater, film, and television.

Directed by Serero, TOVAH presents an intimate portrait of Feldshuh through rare archival footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and interviews with notable actors, artists, and cultural figures. The film traces her fearless rise in the performing arts and underscores her lasting influence on American theater and Jewish storytelling.

“Cinebash captures the heart of what BIJFF is all about — meaningful stories, cultural connection, and shared experiences,” said Wendy Honig, co-founder of the Boca International Jewish Film Festival. “Honoring Tovah Feldshuh while opening our 2026 season with a world premiere was both powerful and deeply special.”

Lesley Rich, BIJFF co-founder, added, “The energy in the room was electric. Cinebash set an exciting tone for what promises to be our most ambitious and dynamic festival season yet.”

Now in its third year, BIJFF continues to grow as a leading cultural force in South Florida. The festival will continue with screenings and events at Cinemark Palace 20, Movies of Delray, Movies of Lake Worth, and Paragon Theaters Deerfield, culminating in a multi-week festival running February 21 through March 15, 2026.

Founded by Wendy Honig, Lesley Rich, and Arleen Roberts, the Boca International Jewish Film Festival is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating Jewish culture, heritage, and storytelling through film, with year-round programming designed to foster dialogue and community.
