Boynton Beach Government & Community Affairs - Sept 24

Thursday, September 24, 2026 (8:30 AM - 9:30 AM) (EDT)

Description

The Government and Community Affairs Committee at the Chamber serves as
a vital bridge between businesses and our community.

Our mission is to empower our members to stay informed, advocate for their interests, and actively participate in shaping the future of Boynton Beach and beyond.

Meet Boynton Beach City Commissioner Angela Cruz

Angela Cruz serves as the Boynton Beach City Commissioner for District I, where she brings a background in public administration and community involvement to her role in city government. She currently serves a term running from March 2025 through March 2028.

Commissioner Cruz’s commitment to the Boynton Beach community began before her election to the City Commission. She previously served as Vice Chair of the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) and was a member of the City’s Senior Advisory Board, giving her experience working on issues affecting residents and the community.

Her interest in public service is supported by a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, which she earned between 2015 and 2017.

Cruz was first elected to the City Commission in 2022 and was subsequently elected to another term in March 2025. She also serves as a member of the BBCRA Board, which works on redevelopment and revitalization efforts within Boynton Beach.

As District I Commissioner, Cruz is part of a five-member City Commission responsible for establishing city policy, adopting legislation and the municipal budget, and helping set the strategic direction for Boynton Beach.
