On Saturday, May 23rd, join the Dinkin Dawgs, Nikki Roth, and the Palm Beach Royals for The Dawgs and Royals Spring Showdown. This exciting Pickleball tournament will take place in Howard Park in West Palm Beach. Bring a partner or show up solo, just be prepared for an epic day of doubles matches. Divisions will include men’s, women's, and mixed for 3.0-3.99 levels, and coed for 4.0+. When signing up, try to have your partner register immediately after you. Solo players should reach out to the tournament director for assistance in getting paired up. Paddles must be USA Pickleball or APP approved, and the tournament will use the Lifetime pickleball. Players will have one minute to warm up before each game. The playoff bracket will be determined using the Pickleball Brackets scoring system. Pool play games will be played to 11, win by 2, and playoffs/finals games will be played to 15, win by 2. This format is subject to change depending on the final number of teams registered. Teams will switch sides at 6 in games to 11, and at 8 in games to 15. Serve and side will be decided by 1 or 2 behind the paddle; and each team will be allowed one timeout per match. Finals will take place after pool play, with the 1st place teams competing for gold and silver and the 2nd place teams competing for bronze. If time allows, there may be a semifinal round. There will be awards for the 1st-3rd place finishers, and all paid entrants will receive a complimentary raffle ticket for giveaway prizes. The current fee is $40, and registration is required in advance. Start times will be scheduled between 8 AM and 3 PM, and will be finalized a few days prior to the tournament. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early. There are two entrances to the park. For the closest parking, continue past the first entrance, turn left onto Park Place, then left on Lake Ave. Enter through the yellow gates at the end of Lake Ave. This showdown is sure to be a great day of competition, sportsmanship, and community on the courts.
