His research focuses on monetary and macroeconomic theory\, economic history\, and political economy. His work has been published in leading journals including the European Economic Review\, Explorations in Economic History\, Public Choice\, and the Southern Economic Journal\, and his popular writing has appeared in City Journal\, National Review\, the Washington Times\, and the Wall Street Journal.
